We docked in St. John’s, the capital of Antigua and Barbuda. For my “Antigua Highlights” tour we boarded a kind-of-crappy bus and drove on kind-of-crappy roads to the other side of the island, passing a very nice cricket stadium, to get to a kind-of-crappy ruined fort. There may be great places in Antigua and Barbuda, but we did not find any today.

We did have a nice view of Eric Clapton’s house. It’s on the right.

During the colonial period this was a gun battery. All the canons have been removed with one exception.

As we were leaving a flock of goats invaded. The shepherd is the one talking on the phone.

At the other side of the hill we had a great view of the Dockyards. Which we’ll be at shortly.

“Nelson’s Dockyards” is a historical site where famous Captain Nelson was in charge of for a few years. It is reasonably well kept, so a view of respecting some of the history. The “Pillars” were part of a sail construction and repair building that was damage in an earthquake and following hurricane. The columns are the only parts still here.

Kind of a “meh” day.
