No, it’s not bad. The cruise is still on. It is my blog post that are late – I caught a head cold on the flight back from Spain, so I spent a couple of days enjoying my suffering rather than updating all my Cruiseboysians. Since I fly in two days, here is a recap:
Last years “Packing and Planning” post still applies. Small hitch – I thought I could finally declare all my electronic equipment has migrated to the USB-C connector, but no. It turns out my hand-held underwater camera uses Micro-USB. I think I threw out all such cables a while ago. It also uses Wi-Fi, so I’m not concerned. But if I pass a tech store in the airport I’ll ask.
Associated with packing is the “luggage valet”. Silversea does not expect you to fly with nine weeks worth of luggage. Those taking the entire grand voyage can ship two pieces of luggage, up to 50 pounds (23 kg) each, the week before. This was a big milestone, as it was at this hurdle that last year’s cruise was canceled. However, I worked thru my head-cold-headache and got it all put together. Mostly I ship the fancy clothing I won’t be wearing over the next few days (tuxedo pajamas?) and bulk items.
I’ve confirmed my port excursions, and several are part of Silversea’s S.A.L.T food program. Please review last year’s post here.
