Location: Iguazu National Park
Plan: I get picked up at the hotel at 5:00am to make a 8:00am flight to Iguazu, with a visit to the falls scheduled in the afternoon. I literally closed my suitcase when I got a call at 4:45am, with my local travel agent informing the air plane was having issues, plan is to now fly at 3:30pm. Welp, I don’t mind a few more hours of sleep.
Insert several hours of standard, boring airport stuff. The airline makes Southwest look luxury. But we got there, and my local guide took me to the hotel, which is right in the middle of the park. I’ve done several “Looks what is outside my veranda” pictures. I think this one competes well.

You know your hotel is in the middle of a national park when there are multiple signs on your window/balcony sliding door that say “Close and lock the door when you leave the room, or the monkeys will get in and eat all the stuff in your mini-bar and drink all the whiskey.” Well, maybe not exactly that, but there be monkeys here – about a dozen jumped from the trees onto the hotel around sunset.

I visit the La Lorenza private rain forest reserve tomorrow and hike to the Falls the next day. We’ll see how my knee feels, the flight did not do me any favors.
