You can’t help but compare different ships when you spend weeks on them. My 2019 world cruise Silver Whisper (a great name) at 28,000 tons is about 2/3 the size of my current Silver Moon. From the deck plans my cabin on the Moon is 40 sq ft. (4 sq m) larger than on the Whisper, and when I walked in, I thought the cabin was longer than before (but remember, it’s been four years since I was on the Whisper). But that makes sense, as the ship itself is wider and Silversea only offers cabins that have view of the ocean – no interior cabins.
The view from the door shows that the Silver Moon maintains Silversea’s tan/silver, grey and sage green color scheme, which I enjoy. To the left are the bathroom and closet, which I’ll get to a bit later.
At the end of the hall, you see the bed and living area.
My cabin has a sleep-sofa, so you can fit three passengers. But they better be really good friends. I have my laptop and camera on the desk – more about my technology in a future post.
Sometimes the sea cooperates with the photographer.
Here’s the view from the veranda. With the different amount of sunlight the colors don’t match perfectly. I think the second picture is the closest to what I see – but my eyes aren’t great, so who knows?
Here’s the closet – exciting stuff, I know. It seems about the same size as before, but remember the cabins are for dual occupancy, and this one can have three!
When you enter the bath the corner shower and toilet are too the left.
As I posted about my Galapagos cruise on the Silver Origin, I like the Origin’s bathroom layout more. But, they removed the tub. Given the expected passenger demographics, I can understand Silversea not wanting to do that for longer-term cruise cabins. However, I’d sure like that space for a larger shower.
