Cruiseboysians will remember my post from last year, where I announced my 2022 South America Grand Voyage.  It was delayed due to Omicron – but a year has passed, so it’s time to start again!

I will largely “borrow” from my pre-cruise posts from last year for the next few updates as I get closer to the 6-Jan-2024 cruise start.

Like most long-term cruises, this itinerary is broken into approximately two-week duration “legs” (or “segments”).  Not all the guests onboard are there for the full Grand Voyage, so each segment start/end port allows those who only want a shorter taste of cruising the chance to hop on/off.  The legs of this Grand Voyage are similar to last year, but there are enough differences that it’s worth posting new images.  We start from the same location – Fort Lauderdale:

As opposed to last year, I will not take a cross-Atlantic cruise afterwards to order to visit my sister and her family – I’m there now! I am spending the holidays with her near Barcelona, Spain. We celebrated a combined Thanksgiving / Christmas (“Thanksmas”?) a few days ago with some other ex-patriot families, which was great fun. Well, until it ended with karaoke. I stuck with such holiday classics like “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer“, so I managed to survive.
