For the afternoon we pulled into Buccaneer Cove at Santiago Island.  Our guide explained this was a favorite spot for pirates to repair and resupply back in the day. This stop only has a planned Zodiac coast tour, but the geology looked awesome.

We started our tour with what our guide called “Bird Poop Rock”.  Wow.  It looked as if it were plastered like an old fashioned building.  The current decorators were mostly Nazca Boobies.

However, they had accomplices.  The Brown Pelican made a re-appearance, and we met the Brown Noddy for the first time. They look like ocean pigeons, but they are astonishing maneuverable while skimming the water.

Lastly, hiding behind an outcrop, we found an adolescent Yellow-Crowned Night Heron.  This one is older than the one we found on Genovesa, but still not an adult.
