Location: Seville, Spain

We docked in Seville, Spain. When you look at a map, that’s a surprise.

One of the joys of cruising in a small ship is that it can go up river and dock where larger ships cannot. We steamed a few hours up the Guadalquivir River. We passed a few villages and folks taking pictures and video of the ship.

Our ship was escorted by (what I think is) a Tern.

Near Seville we had the other cool thing about small cruise ships. We went thru a lock.

The far gate is closed and the drawbridge is down. I don’t know why they have drawbridges on both ends of the lock, but it looked cool seeing it all work. There are actually two drawbridges at the far gate – one is for trains, the other cars/trucks. I have never seen this kind of pivot-action drawbridge before.
