Location: Richards Bay, South Africa

Richards Bay is our first stop in South Africa. I jumped in a bus and went to Shakaland, a Zulu “cultural village.” This was the set of the 1986 TV mini-series “Shaka Zulu“, which I remember watching. They built a resort on the site and educational center.

We sat thru some classes on how the village was organized, and attended some cultural dance. Which was quite feisty.

Field Trip

I’m taking another field trip tomorrow for a four-day / three-night safari in near Kruger National Park. As before, while I expect there to be Wifi, I don’t know how it will work so I may be out of contact for a few days.
