Video Games

En route to Maputo, Mozambique. Arrive on 11-Apr.

I brought a gaming laptop with me on this cruise and in three months I have played exactly 14 minutes of games. To help you understand that, before this cruise (since I retired) I would have played 14 minutes of video games within 30 minutes of waking up every day.

I did not expect that Silversea would do such a good job at keeping me busy during sea days. The destination lectures (description of the port area we are about to visit) and enrichment lectures have kept me occupied in the mornings, and I attend the dancing class and water volleyball in the afternoons. I have barely missed playing vidya.

I knew I could not play my normal games on the cruise as I mostly play online player-vs-player games (MechWarrior Online and World of Tanks) that require steady and fast internet access. So, I loaded my laptop with single-player games:

I deliberately did not play some of these games while at home because I “was sure” I’d be playing them while on the cruise. But I simply haven’t. When I’ve had down time, I’ve tried to fill it with keeping this blog and reading.

Weight Lifting

I try to use the small gym every few days. Recently I was very disappointed with the amount of weight I was struggling with. But then I realized it was marked in kilograms (1 kg = 2.2 lbs). Heh.

  1. You are officially student “T” favorite person with this posting on video games. Apparently you and him have BattleTech in common. Figures. 🙂
