During previous cruises I’ve posted pictures of the on-board “celebration” of crossing the equator. I missed the first one on this world cruise because I was on my Machu Picchu overland field trip. So, once again, the Silver Dawn sought King Neptune’s permission to cross the equator.
First, the Cruise Director calls for King Neptune to come and adjudicate the proceedings.
Lo, here parades King Neptune and his court. The Cruise Director, Assistant Cruise Directors and the Stage Entertainers all get into the spirit.
Now King Neptune and the Queen lists the crimes committed by crew and guests who had never crossed the Equator before. Things such as “eating the entire buffet” or “seen sneaking between the cabins” are called out.
The dreaded punishment for such “sins”is…. KISSING A FISH! The horror! I love the reaction from one of the pirates to the fish.
Here one of the Entertainers had not crossed the Equator, so was forced to sing a song and then “walk the plank” by jumping into the pool.
It was a great time.
