As of noon 26-Jan our location is 22deg 27min South, so we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn tonight – a first time for me. Until reading the Wiki article I did not know that it moves northward 15 meters every year due to the Earth’s precession. Without looking, name the four countries entirely south of the Tropic of Capricorn. Hint: two are in or next to South Africa.
Tatouge
The Silver Whisper includes arts and crafts amongst its activities. I had an opening today at its time slot, so what the heck. It was eight ladies and me. Today was decorating a greeting card using French Polynesian tattoo art as inspiration. I will admit there is a part of me that thinks I’m eight years old and expect Mom to put this on the refrigerator. But it was fun using a Sharpie on the hand-made paper and judging how far the ink will spread depending on how long you kept the pen in contact.
Tango Cervila
The entertainment the other night was “Tango Cervila” – two professional tango dancers, Aldana Arthur and Eduardo Rodriguez, performed on stage. I especially enjoyed the “History of Tango” video segments shown between the sets.
Sleight of Hand
Another night we watched the comedian/magic of Rick Green. The comedy was so-so, but I do enjoy the skill of slight-of-hand card tricks. Rick had a web cam on stage with a close-up of the table as he performed many of the tricks, and he was very good.
Prawns
I returned to the hot rocks restaurant, and ordered the prawns. They were at least eight inches each. I’ve had lobsters smaller than that.
